Our client is an international financial services organisation with substantial and growing life and pensions insurance operations inDublin. A new opportunity has arisen within the German Life Underwriting team which will enable an ambitious trainee life or life underwriter to take the next step in their career, working on an international basis.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure complete and robust technical evaluation of all Life, Critical Illness and Disability new business and renewal proposals
- Support the underwriting function by critically reviewing and making all necessary alterations on all new and existing life reinsurance contracts
- Build effective working relationships as a member of a small team within Insurance
- Assist with effective and robust life underwriting process and structure in place to manage and oversee underwriting exposures for the company.
- Assist with the development of Insurance Risk Management and ensure consistent application to underwriting decisions
Qualifications & Experience
- 1+ years experience in Life and / or Reinsurance Underwriting within a domestic or international life assurance firm
- Fluent German and English
- A significant sub-standard sign-off authority in life, disability and critical illness cover
- A proven track record of technical reinsurance management
- Degree qualified and progression towards DMU or ACII aulification
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Excellent relationship management skills with demonstrated record in building working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
