Performance Engineer/ Functional Consultant

Dublin

Our client are looking for 2 performance engineers to join their existing team. The candidates will have a strong understanding of software development C/Java but with a love for analytics and software functionality software implementation. If this is you, then Vantage Resources have a very interesting permanent position for you with a large financial/trading software company based in Dublin.

As a pivotal member of the team, your role will involve understanding their software product range – it’s strengths/ weakness and look to apply creative solutions to complex problems. You will join a small specialised team in design and testing of new optimisations for both hardware and software. Shell scripting is a must within this role and a background in Unix and Solaris systems.

Within this team you would be joining a very bright bunch of individuals all with exceptional academic records within their disciplines and hence the heavy standing on academic background. My client wants high performers and driven individuals with a passion for not just analysis but getting deeply submerged in technical issues and digging deep into finding a resolution.

A lot of the software releases would be simulated before roll outs where by the team would stress test the product on the designated platform to ensure the utmost quality product is delivered to their clients.

Experience Required:
Professional / Academic

  • 1.1 or 2.1 Bachelors / Masters degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Science
  • 450 + CAO points at Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) is essential. (Please list your subjects & grades achieved)
  • Experience of working with UNIX, SQL
  • Shell scripting is a must and some exposure to Solaris.
