Health & Safety Officer
Responsibilities
• Work closely with the EHS Supervisor and Team to advance the Safety Culture across the site.
• Implement effective programs, initiatives and safety promotion events to increase the safety profile and prevent accidents at the site.
• Coordinate the Site Safety Committee and work closely with Safety Reps to ensure effective engagement with personnel on EHS matters.
• Coordinate the Lab Safety Forum and the Contractor Safety Forum.
• Coordinate the accident and near miss investigation programs
• Liaise with external agencies (e.g. H.S.A) on health and safety matters.
• Manage the Safe Start Program at the site.
• Provide EHS Support for New Product Introductions and Capital Projects as required.
• Carry out EHS Audits, Risk Assessments and Training.
Requirements
• Third level diploma/degree in health and safety
• Experience of leading effective accident reduction initiatives and inspiring a zero accident culture
• Knowledge and experience of leading and implementing EHS projects involving multiple stakeholders
• Excellent knowledge of EHS Regulatory requirements and expectations
• Highly energised and motivated and a self starter with the ability to influence and motivate others
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills
• Desirable: Previous experience in implementation of a behavioural safety program.
