Production and Inventory Controller - Galway.
This is a contract posting of circa 1 year's duration.

JOB PURPOSE
Lead all production & inventory control activities for complete line of products.
Responsible for the co-ordination and execution of the company master production schedule ensuring material flows through production in support of the MPS to meet business goals and customer requirements. Lead all direct material procurement activities and the strategic management of the company’s contract manufacturing partners.

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of the company’s production & inventory control process, direct material procurement and management of manufacturing partners.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Implement and manage production control process. Implement Production Planning Routines to ensure manufacturing partners are manufacturing product in line with MPS requirements and MPS is met. (Data base maintenance, Timely Order placement in line with agreed Mfg Lead-times, Order scheduling / rescheduling based on MPS changes, Management of order lines to support customer requirements, Monthly Open Order Book Reconciliation (qty, time, price).
2. Establish monthly Inventory Management Routines for consigned inventory and E&O management.
3. Establish Price Management Routines to ensure latest price agreed is approved, documented and recorded systematically.
4. Drive direct material cost reduction activities aimed at year on year double digit cost reduction. (Drive Bill of Materials (BOM) cost reductions and continuous improvement throughout the current supply chain cycle)
5. Implement a vendor performance management process, including metric based monthly operations review and quarterly business review meetings based on an agreed vendor scorecard.
6. Ensure the necessary agreements / contracts are in place with manufacturing partners which facilitate achievement of business targets, management of risk & required quality levels.
7. Build Long Term “Key” / “Strategic” Supplier Relationships
8. Support MPS, Strategic Sourcing, NPD and PQE activities as required.
9. Drive overall Continuous Process Improvement and efficiency in the production control processes and supply chain through e.g. lead time reduction initiatives.
10. Ensure utilization of the Navision system to its maximum re the execution of the role and minimize off line processes. Drive automation where possible.
11. Document (1) Each business process & (2) procedures, and ensure compliance with same. Support internal and external audits as required.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:

Qualification level and discipline: 3rd level business or engineering qualification, ideally to degree level.

5 or more years' experience in a similar role, including experience of supply chain management, supply chain programs e.g. JIT, VMI and dealing with 3rd party sub-contract manufacturers.
Industry type: Candidates should have experience in medical device, Pharma or High-Tech Electronic Manufacturing Industries

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Knowledge of MPS, Planning (production & materials), Purchasing (including supplier & commodity management), Order Fulfillment and Management, Inventory and Warehouse Management, Shipping & Logistics. Overall Supply Chain Management
Knowledge of Order Fulfillment, Warehouse and MRP systems
Advanced working knowledge of Excel and other computer based tools
Supplier and commodity management capability:
Ability to interact with senior management of offshore vendors and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews
Effectively interface with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for the company

Good Analytical and Problem Solving ability
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to interface with Sales, Finance, Operations to solve customer and vendor issues.
