Financial Reporting Assistant Manager

Description

The Assistant Manager has responsibility for all aspects of the fund financial reporting service provided to specified clients. The primary duty is the management of the accounts preparation process to ensure high quality financial statements are finalised on a timely basis, while maintaining strong relationships with both auditors and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the accounts preparation/audit process.
  • Liaise regularly with clients and auditors.
  • Review financial statements and underlying files, to ensure timely sign off and filing.
  • Monitor compliance with regulations and accounting standards.
  • Resolve any issues arising in the accounts preparation/audit process.
  • Implement and update BNY Mellon Financial Reporting Procedures.
  • Manage, coach and motivate staff.
  • Engage in the training and personal/technical development of staff.


Qualifications

Minimum educational requirements:

  • Professional accountancy qualification.
Essential skills:

  • Analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong contacts with both auditors and clients.
  • People management skills.
  • Motivation and leadership skills.
  • Organisational skills.
  • A commitment to the delivery of a quality service to the client.


Essential knowledge:

  • At least 4 years auditing/accounts preparation experience, 3 years of which in the funds industry.
  • Knowledge of the relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements pertaining to the funds industry.
  • Proven record in managing the production or audit of fund financial statements.
